Forgiveness is a powerful thing. If you have ever experienced abuse in your life, let me tell you, you are not alone. I was abused by different men when I was very young. I held on to the hate and anger for years. This was not good for me or my family. Something needed to change in my life. The first time I went to church was in my 40’s. It seemed like the pastor was looking right at me while he preached. The next week I surrendered to the Lord. I asked Jesus to forgive me. Shortly after, I heard of a group that was specifically dealing with hurts such as mine. I jumped in, moved along in the program. One week a man was coming in to stand in for the men that had abused us. I was able to forgive all those men. It was so freeing for me, it made me feel so much lighter.
