Container gardening is all the rage for people with no space for a proper garden or the time to maintain it. You can plant a few things in pots, place them on the porch or a windowsill. When you do this you realize it’s really not that hard. Some of you may think that it isn’t worth the time and may not produce much, but the truth is that it can be very effective. Perhaps you have seen other gardens and they seem to require a lot more effort, time or knowledge than you are able to put in. If you just try some container gardening, you’ll find that your gardening method doesn’t have to be very complex in order to enjoy some sweet basil. Basil is an herb that grows fast with minimal effort. Basil might not be your first choice and you might think that you have no need for it. But once you have fresh basil, you begin seeing a need for it everywhere.
Sharing your faith is a bit like starting your garden. Maybe you don’t think you have the knowledge, boldness or time to engage with someone on a spiritual level. You might even think that there isn’t any opportunity to share if your only field of influence is with other believers. But your way of sharing doesn’t have to compare to anyone else. Ask God to open our eyes so we can truly see the people around us. We will see countless needs. There are opportunities everywhere to share your faith with others that need to hear your story. We begin realize that the cashier that checks you out at the store needs us to notice and encourage them. Or the neighbor that you wave at but don’t speak to is desperate for changes that can only come from Jesus. You may think that your testimony is pointless, but once you make up your mind to share it, you begin seeing a need for it everywhere.
